Socktober Is Back: Donate Socks & Underwear and Shred for Free

October is Socktober, and Black Dog Shredding is once again joining Locker #505: Students’ Clothing Bank to help provide essential clothing items to Albuquerque-area students who need them.

This year, Black Dog Shredding is making it easy to help—and giving you a good reason to finally clear out some of that paper you’ve been meaning to get rid of.

Donate Socks & Underwear. Shred for Free.

Throughout October, bring Black Dog Shredding new packages of socks and/or underwear in sizes 4T through young adult, and we’ll securely shred up to one small file box or one trash bag of paper for FREE.

Why Socks and Underwear?

Socks and underwear may not be the first things that come to mind when you think about donating clothing, but they are some of the most-requested essentials.

Locker #505: Students’ Clothing Bank is a local nonprofit that provides clothing to students in need from kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the greater Albuquerque metro area. During Socktober, the organization collects new socks and new underwear to help meet that need.

These are practical, everyday items that can make a real difference in a student’s comfort, dignity, and confidence.

Black Dog Shredding is asking customers to help by donating sizes 4T through young adult, helping Locker #505 serve students across a wide range of ages and sizes.

Clear Out Some Clutter and Help a Local Student

If you have old bills, statements, records, or other sensitive paperwork piling up at home, Socktober is a good opportunity to take care of it while supporting a local organization.

Bring new packages of socks and/or underwear in sizes 4T through young adult, along with up to one small file box or one trash bag of paper, and Black Dog Shredding will securely shred the paper at no charge.

Your donation goes to Locker #505. Your old documents get securely destroyed. And together, we help make sure local students have access to basic clothing essentials they need.

Join Black Dog Shredding for Socktober

Socktober runs for the entire month of October. When you’re out shopping, pick up some new socks or underwear in sizes 4T through young adult and bring them by Black Dog Shredding with that stack of papers you’ve been meaning to shred.

Every package helps Locker #505 continue its work supporting students throughout the Albuquerque community.
